Folks-
I am looking for any ideas for campgrounds for this coming labor day. I'd prefer to head down to the NC or SC beach areas but a lake would also be fine. I live near Mebane NC (between Durham and Burlington) and usually go to the Jordan lake state recreation area. The problem is we've been there so many times it is starting to feel like home and not what i want for a camping experience. THe only limitations is I have a 36 ft motorhome and wrangler I pull so I need a somewhat level space that is large enough to park this behemoth. Any suggestions? If not a beach area, I am happy to hear about ideas in other places around NC, SC or even VA.
Thanks!

A personal friend of mine manages a fantastic little campground on the e. Tennessee river in Dayton Tn. Just left there last month, every thing there is NEW. All new concrete sites which are dead level, free WiFi, cable with Speed channel, all 50 amp sites. Well worth the $39 a night. Look up bluewatercamping.com Another place is Tanglewood Campground 1 mile off of I-40 just west of Winston-Salem, same rates and a ton of stuff for the kids! Mayberry Campground outside of Mt.Airy,NC. All of these can handle a large Motorhome with no probs.

I highly recommend taking a trip out to Phelps Lake (Pettigrew State Park). It's out in the middle of nowhere. The campground while not set up to support the water usage and waste of an rv,had several sites to set up on.Google it up.
