I'm looking to get all my chrome trim, grill, and some 18" Iroc wheels powder coated off my 1978 El Camino.
If anyone has any recommendations or suggestions please let me know. Preferably in the Raleigh area. Thanks in advance.

I only know of one in Spring Lake but they are good. Final Touch Powder Coating.

Is your trim & grille metal or plastic? Most powders bake at 300+F, so baking plastic can be an issue

You'll have to strip the chrome before you can powder coat it. Find a metal finisher that can strip the chrome chemically and then get it to the powder coater.

If you were in Greensboro I could help you out. Don't know anyone in Raleigh.

I must of had a brain fart because I didn't even take that in to consideration. My grill is plastic, the trim pieces are chrome(aluminum??), and 2 of them are about 5 feet long. The wheels are also chrome but is flaking really bad.

Don't know if you can really see it in the pic, but its the pieces that go around the bed, front windshield, and over the door

You don't have to strip the chrome, but it will last a lot longer vs abrasion if you do. That being said, if the wheels are flaking that needs to be dealt with and the grill won't work.

Is it just me or are there no longer any Caminos around with those bed trim pieces still attached?

The powder coasters I deal with (several) won't powder coat over chrome. I have tried several times with different coaters and a big NO, not gonna do it.

Just my experience.
