Greetings all. I recently relocated from northern NH to the Chapel Hill/Pittsboro area and am new to this forum as of oh,.. 10 seconds ago.
I no longer have a place to work on my 1978 Jeep CJ5 restomod and probably won't have a lot of time for the next little while so I am researching plan B:
I am looking for a shop or fellow enthusiast who may be able to take on the remainder of my project for a fee. Without getting into the tiny details: the new tub is on and ready for paint, the rest of the body parts are a mix of fiberglass and steel and have all of the body work complete and primed- ready for final fit-up; paint and assembly. Then it is ready for all of the wiring/electronics/mechanicals/guages. There is some minor fabrication left like frame tie-ins for the cage and relocating or replacing the spring perches for a better shaft angle now that the double cardan driveshaft has been fit up.
Basically, I am looking for someone or a shop with older Jeep experience who can finish it or get me close so I can start wheeling/driving it this summer.
It has been a long road and I have reached that special place with the wife where either the Jeep becomes usable or I'll be choosing between her and it (don't temp me... )
Thanks,
Shad
