looking for some basic uwharrie info

hey guys. my rig is under construction so i wont be doing any 4x4, but im on spring break and im dying to get out of the house...

just fishing, and primitive camping or park camping by the lake... whatevers free/cheapest...

where would that be? and how exactly do i get there from 109? i havent been to uwharrie since i was a kid

109 all the way.You'll see the signs.... Stop and look at one of the bulletin board s when you pull in. There will be a list of places to get a pass. Or while on 109 pass by the park, you'll come to Mullinex's gas station on your right you can get a pass there, and get a map, its a big place. There I've heard a lot of good things about the fishing in Badin.

thanks man! also i looked on that info.us site or whatever, and it looked pretty dead, for prices and such, maybe i just overlooked it..

anyone know what it would cost to pitch a tent near the lake in one of the primitive campings? ive found a few rates, but it didnt say per person, per site, or per night etc...

also does uwharrie camping close at night? or could i go and come anytime i wanted to?
 
i believe it is $8ish a night or so for the camp spots? www.reserveusa.com has them listed I believe but not sure if their site is working or not. (Showed all gone last time I looked)

I believe "primitive" pitch your tent in the woods off a trail somewhere...is free?! BUT you obviously dont get access to the nice bathhouse, etc. Remember to pack out what you brought in!

Enjoy your trip (make sure a friend/family knows where you are going, it is a BIG park as you say and always good for others to know how to find you)
