I plan to start making a mount setup for JD2 benders for using the Harbor Freight air over hyd ram, similar to the one I make for my own benders.
If someone in the Asheville area has a JD2 bender and is interested, I'll give you a mount setup in exchange for you working with me to get the necessary dimensions from your bender. I'd rather do this than buy a JD2 bender and resell it once I have the numbers I need.
I wouldn't need to have the bender at my shop. All I need is about an hour at your shop to get the dimensions. Once I have a prototype ready to go, we'd test it on your bender to make sure everything works okay, and get a few pics I can use for advertising.
I can bring my own HF ram to use in checking out the fit and function in the event you want the setup but aren't ready to buy your own ram yet.
FWIW, my mount design isn't anything like the one from Copperhead Fab. No welding is required, and if you use the ram with the lug base, you can remove the ram from the bender frame in less than 1 minute if you want to use it on a shop crane too. The JD2 model will be identical except for the obvious mounting dimensions and locations, and will not require any sort of modification to your bender frame for installation.
Just let me know if you're interested and we'll get something going on this right away.
Thanks.
