On my 95 YJ its a dana 30

Theres a SPARTAN LOCKER
or a
POWERTRAX LOCK RIGHT LOCKER

Whats the better pick? (never heard on the Spartan befor)

The Spartan is a Yukon gear locker. Chase just put a spartan in a a friends Jeep. It seems to work fine and he said it was a very easy install due to well thought out design. JP did an article on these recently and the others and determined them all to be about the same. The plus to the spartan, beyond design, is it comes with a hardened cross pin the others charge extra.

Brandon at Rides of Conover put a Spartan locker in my 91 XJ. He said it's built better than the Lock Rite . I wheeled it thts past weekend and it did great.

I am putting an Aussie front and rear in my ZJ

I just put a Sparton in the front of of my CJ, have not had chance to wheel it yet but incomparison to the Aussie i installed in my tj it was pretty exactly the same. Only difference was I paid about $60 less for the spartan becasue it came with the harden cross pin and i got with free shipping.

It is like anything else in the 4x4 market you have to make the determination if you want to try a new product made by reputable company or just stick with the same old thing everyone else is running and spend more money.

Lock Right out of those two, but I prefer a Aussie

Have to ask how to did come to the determination that the lockrite is better then the Sparton? not trying to be an arse but have you run either or are you just going name.

The lockright has been out longer then then the Aussie so that would make it better then the Aussie right?

I just put a aussie in my 8.25. I picked it because lockrite didn't have one for a 29spline. They really all work the some way. Pick which every one you can get a deal on. Don't worry to much on brand.

I have installed both a few times, And judging from the installs, The aussie is what I would buy, and I am running a Powertrax Locker in the front of mine.

There is a difference between a Power Trax No Slip Locker and a Lock rite. Which one were you looking at getting?

bought a spartan for my yj 3 weeks ago. 239 with free shipping. have not seen its still on back order.

Brandon ordered mine on Monday, had it on Wednesday. Who did you order yours through? May have been a vendor issue.

locker

all depends if your gonna street the rig or not if you are going to do so i would suggest a more expensive choice in a selectable locker, i have a dana 44 in 99tj it has the super 44 30 spline chromo's in it and a 30 spline ox locker it is pricey at over $800.00 but the ability to open the carrier up at anytime or vise versa is priceless and as long as you let it fully engage or disingage before you hammer down its as strong as they come, and all made in the usa,and by the way im running a 4.0 ho out of a cherokee thats been twicked jut a bit and 4.56's

In the front or rear?

In the front or rear?
my guess is the rear.
Ive used the lok-rite style, detroit, and arb. and of course the arb was my favorite.but that jeep see's alot of on road use too. right now I have a detroit in the rear and a lok-rite in the front. if I keep these axles under my jeep I will putting an arb in the front.
