Looked at a replacement ZJ for Xenia today and the 4.0 seems to run well but it's loping pretty bad. It's got a high idle 1k or better, hard to tell since it's constantly jumping 1.5k-3k RPM's. I've checked the plug wires, cap and rotor look new. Fuel pressure is at 45 constant. I've never run across this before and not sure what else I should check for. PO says he has replaced several parts in the process of fixing it and has now given up.

i agree, check the iac or it has a vacuum leak
