Just a suggestion, but list some specific skills. If you're not looking to get back into paint & body, or home resto. then what?

Sorry, for the sudden change. There's a lot of people in that boat these days! Best of luck!

If you have done P&B hopefully you have pics, references, ect. Take those and start hitting up shops.. Good luck!!!

i have basic machanical skills, and can dig the shit outa ditches...

Good luck man, and I know what you are going through first hand.

well i was laid off from wilburn took me 9 months to find that job workd my ass off @ all hours of the night 6 months later and now unemployed again... oh did i mention i have a 8yr old, 5yr old, and a 6mth old.......... yeah def not happy...

yup

guess i could set up a hamburger stand @ URE.....lol jk YHDG

Do you have any of your auto body stuff .. like could you handle a dents and scratchs ?

sold most of it when i was unemployed for 9 months, but what u got in mind?

To begin with, I feel for ya brother. I don't know what I would do if I had youngons to feed and lost my job.
Secondly, you do present yourself well on here, I assume you would do the same in person.
third, start evaluating every single expense you have and cut everything that is not necessary.
fourth, hit the road, go to every shop, both commercial and family owned and talk your best talk. At the Mom and Pops places you can even offer to show up everyday and get paid for what you actually do, even the simple stuff. $50 a day is better than zero a day.
Fith, even when you find something, don't stop looking. Do your best where you find something first, and if you find something better or more pay, tell them up front and if they see your value and are able to, they will most likely try to up the coin to keep you.
If you have or can secure a shop space on your own, put you an ad on Craig's List or the like for auto body repair. If you need to drum up some business, hit the used car places, they are always needing some touch up and repair, so their junk will bring more.
Best of luck

thanks guys

did you work in salisbury? if not call restoration plus they might need some help ikd just a thought
or contact cloninger ford in salisbury they might have a spot open in the body shop

no but im going to check with restoration plus and servicemaster plus. thanks for the help.

still looking and taking suggestions..........

Have you tried Sudden Impact in Mooresville? They always seem to want/need PT helping hands. Might just be clean up or washing vehicles, but it's better than nothing.

If you lived in Colorado, you'd be making a killing with all the hail damage cars. Too bad you sold all your stuff. Have any PDR skills?

will check in mooresville and no pdr skills, just mostly paint work. thanks

still taking suggestions guys..... havnt hit on anything yet....

Just a suggestion...

Call Paul Davis Restoration, Servpro, Belfor, A&I, and all the other restoration companies you can find. I do alot of work with them (as a sub contractor) and I know they are usually pretty busy. The economy might suck, but buildings are still catching on fire and having flood damage and insurance companies are still paying to have them fixed.

cool thanks 99ncxj
