In the end, at least 220 000 people were infected with live polio virus in Cutter's vaccine (including 100 000 contacts of immunised children), 70 000 developed muscle weakness, 164 were severely paralysed, and 10 died.

So, I read 21000 were paralytic cases in 1952. I'm betting it would have been worse than the testing.

The 220000 were healthy before the vaccine gave them polio…. Some got over it, some did not. Salk warned this would happen before cutters vaccine was rolled out, his vaccine used different tech. They “Might” have gotten polio if not for the vaccine, but were given polio by cutters vaccine

Case in point, everyone who requests trials for vaccines before a mass rollout is not an anti vaxxer. The black and white red vs blue arguments for the covid vaccine were bs

The hard part is never knowing if it would truly be worse. I 100% agree that it's a hard subject. This is all vaccines, not just polio and covid.
