Lots of interesting news today

i just can't
the straight up balls on these people to look you in the face and lie and steal
where is all the lottery money and all the new income and property tax revenue from the additional 1MM people that have moved here in the past 10 years?
it's never enough is it?

"About $329.7 million is planned for significant renovations at nine schools."
$330mil/9=$36.7 million PER SCHOOL for renovations. I know costs have gotten out of hand, but that is insane.

So its your fault my computer is so slow
No, that's the fault of Microsoft Visual C++, too many sub routines and calls, and kids learning to code in six weeks at your local strip mall.

When processing power and memory were precious and expensive everyone cared about writing clean efficient code. Now that processors and memory are cheap and plentiful no one gives a crap about making anything efficient. As evidence the installer file for Bluebeam is something like 1.5GB now...

When I learned Fortran 90 back in the day I wrote my final exam project with bespoke code and did not use all the library and subroutine crap they gave us in class. The program ran 4x faster in fewer lines of code and produced the same (correct) results as other people's programs that did all that superfluous BS. We all received the same grade but mine was faster to the finish.

I got the same grade on my programming tests as the guy beside me
and then forgot it all
