alright fellas this has me stumped so hopefully somebody here can help me. its on my 96 chevy 1500 silverado. i just got it back on the road and i notice this damn clicking noise. it does it mostly in reverse and sometimes it'll do it drive. i have plenty of oil pressure, engine is freshley rebuilt, transmission should be fine cause it rides and drives fine. i'm thinkin the starter gear might be gettin knocked by the flywheel. i'm really not sure. its coming from that general area of the starter/transmission. somebody give me some clues on somethin else it could possibly be.

Could be flex plate touching the starter if so it should be easy to spot. Pull the starter and check for nicks or shiny spots on it. Could also be a cracked flex plate.
