Lower control arms

Had a TJ come in with a 4.5" short arm kit. I built these new longer lower control arms and made new mounting brackets for it. 1.5" DOM with weld in bungs and 3/4" Cromo heims w/Kevlar. Make a big difference in the flex. Now the uppers and lowers are parallel and it stopped the rear axle from wanting to walk under the jeep.

Angles look better now. I still have to cut off the factory mount, and beef up the new mount.

Got the factory mounts cut off and the frame cleaned back up. The flex is awesome now. I will try to get some pics when (if) it stops raining.

I'm getting ready to price out the parts of building some lowers for myself. How much to have you build me just 2 lower arms? One end can have factory type rubber bushing but atleast one end needs either rebuildable johny joint or heims.

To anyone I have sent pm's to on pricing...

The prices I have sent you were building them using high strength 4130 Chromoly heims w/Teflon Kevlar (28,081 lbs static load. I can build you the same arms using standard heims (18,000 lbs. static load) for a good bit cheaper, but you get what you pay for with the heims. If anybody needs them priced with standard heims, let me know.

Arms are finished now and brackets removed off frame.

Ended up using the brackets that I cut from frame to use as the new mounts for the traction bars I am building for my pulling truck.

Now a little on the cage. The jeep rolled into my shop with only the rear part of the factory cage. I added front down legs, some cross-bracing, and made new seat mounts that are part of the cage and installed suspension seats with 4-point harnesses. Much safer now and looks alot better. I still have to add some gussets and a couple more bars, but it should be done in a couple of days. Then I am going to pull it out, sand and paint it.

Sorry, didn't mean to break any forum rules about being a vendor, just showing some of the work I can do. My appologies.

Finally got a little time to start on the front control arms. Using Ballistic joints at the frame and bushings on the axle end.

They will be a Y-arm design with the upper being threaded heims for adjustability.

Still have to build the upper arms of the y-arms, cut off the factory control arm brackets and weld the new ones on. Going slow because my full-time job is very busy (luckily). I will post up the progress pics when I get more done.

Been busy with work so this has sit on the back burner for a while. Finally made some progress.

Finally got my jeep finished for our trip to Harlan. This is how it began:

If you can imagine it had some slop in the suspension!!! All better now, feels like a new jeep. Thanks for the complement.
