Had my jeep for about a year now i started with a factory jeep on 31s. I first did the 3inch springs then a springover. The 4 banger wasnt pulling nothing but air so i replace it with a 350/350/205 with twinsticks from a 79 blazer also grabbed the axles from the same truck and rebuilt them with lockers and 456 gears and high steer .All this wasnt that hard because i had some freinds that had already done the same thing to theres so pretty much just copied what they had done . Then i added the 38.5 /17s and it wouldnt even go in the garage so now i am going to lower and stretch the rear .
Replacing springs with factory yj springs

ai445.photobucket.com_albums_qq177_bbbcb04_12242010475.jpg

moved them back 2 1/2 inches
ai445.photobucket.com_albums_qq177_bbbcb04_12242010481.jpg

ai445.photobucket.com_albums_qq177_bbbcb04_12242010492.jpg

that gave me hard time took about three hours of work
After i got the rear done i put the tires back on and ran into this.
ai445.photobucket.com_albums_qq177_bbbcb04_12242010489_1.jpg

ai445.photobucket.com_albums_qq177_bbbcb04_12242010229.jpg

ai445.photobucket.com_albums_qq177_bbbcb04_12242010494.jpg

jeep

Heres where it sits now .
ai445.photobucket.com_albums_qq177_bbbcb04_12242010499.jpg

The rear wheels are more centered now and the jeep will fit in the garage now with the hard top on.
If i had to put a cost on the rear stetch i would say just grinding wheels and welding wire i did pony up for some new spring bushsions and the highsteer stuff.

This thing is wicked sick, i love how you done the rear with the bumper/tire carrier.

Update; i have been gathering parts to highline the hood and frt. fenders .i also got a tj grille from my freind matt figured i may as well do it now while i am going to be painting.

Wow, great pics and nice build-up info. I appreciate the time you've taken to share this with us. What camera are you using? those pics are really good even up close, that's hard to do with a digital these days. How far did you stretch the rear 2-3"?

i sure am glad you sold that civic and bought something you could park on top of it.

yeah me to the gas milage was really great and the air condition was way to cold and not to mention i could drive it to atlanta and back on 2 tanks of gas .lol:lol:

quick question..(ok, 2 questions..)
what kind of axles are you running?? Are they full width??
thanks...

i had bought a 79 blazer with a rebuilt 350 and used the 10bolt frt. with the 12bolt rear. i liked the fact that the frt perches where fixed.i dont do much rough wheelin so far they have held up pretty good.
