LP 30 axle shafts usable for a HP 30

I recently swapped out a LP 30 for a HP 30 from a cherokee. After looking at the shafts from the HP and LP it seems that the U-joint and shaft size is much bigger in the HP. My ? is if i ever broke a shaft could i swap out my LP shafts into my HP 30

I have a 90 XJ D30 HP front with 98 ZJ LP shafts in it. There were 2 different u-joint sizes used in the D30's up to 95 it was the 260 joint (smaller) and after 95 it was the 297 joint (larger) same as a D44 IIRC. Also IIRC anything with ABS also had the 297 joints. As far as I know the shafts are all the same as long as the axle is the same width.

I got an HP30 from an XJ to swap into my TJ...and used the chromolly shafts I already had, plus the stockers for my trail spares...

so, I'd have to say the answer to your question is "yes"...
