This is more a question of using a canister or just using small breather filters. Engine in this case is an 02 lq4 with stock intake. I can fit a seperator canister but less would be better. How high is the risk of blow back? Real world experience is greatly appreciated.

Breathers should be fine. A lot of people go that route with forced induction because it's just simple.

However, you could just run a 3/8 hose from the stock PCV hole to the bung on the top of the intake, like stock. There is also the vent tube on the passenger side valve cover that goes in to the throttle body or intake depending on the year of the motor and DBW vs cable pull.

Pulling the air from the crankcase back in to the intake will definitely make things dirty on the intake side of the heads though. It's really personal choice, either way is fine. I kind of like having a vacuum pulled on mine to keep it from wanting to make a mess elsewhere.

Mine is the DBW and has the passenger side valve cover location, top of intake, the valve itself on driver side valve cover and also throttle body. I may rig a small airtight capsule with inlet and outlet bungs on top and plumb everything in just to keep everything clean.

That oughta work.
