It seems like whenever I am broke I find good deals. Well last week I found an add for a 78 Ford F150 that said make offer. Then it said if he didn't sell it whole by Friday he would part it out. I wrote and asked how much for the axles and tires. The guy wrote back and said $400. I told him i would be there in the morning. I met as planned and he took me to look at one axle and it was the TTB stuff. Then out to the truck. He had to call his buddy that owned the stuff. The guy was much older than me and I am 38. The tires were in the back of his truck. They were almost brand new 35x14.5 Boggers on ford Rims and then he started talking about the axle. Well come to find out the front had CTM u-joints and a spool with Warn hubs. I thought he was gonna want more and he said that he told his buddy $500 but he told me $400 so he would let me have it for that much. So I loaded the axle and he delivered the tires to my place.

Anyone Else find a great deal like this

You got a damn good deal.

I've had my share, got my '78 F150 complete and running on 38's for $600, the 460 and c6 that are now in for $300, and a complete Bronc frame with the mounts I needed (and a running 351/c6/np205) for $200 (thanks to a member this board)

Bought a 67k mile 96 ZJ limited with the 5.2 in good condition for $500

And the best yet, traded a set of used 33" a/t's on old (8-9yrs at that point) KMC billets for a drivable S-10 with 124k miles on it.

Haven't had the same luck lately though....

Some of you guys make me sick with the deals you get. Although as of late, I've gotten lucky twice. I had my pick of everything I wanted from the frame up on a 79 Bronco...got alot of mint stuff for $100. Retail on the stuff I got woulda been about $1500. I also got to pick through a few different 73-79 Fords and one 78 Bronco...I pulled as much good interior and exterior parts as I could...and a good Super Cooler radiator. Retail on that stuff woulda easily been $3k+ and I got it all for $140. All that happened in the last 2 months, beyond that, I never have any luck and get to pay full price.

probably my all time best deal was buying a complete chevy k-30 with a 454, D60, th400 and 205 for $500....

"Dont know why you want the thing the floor is rusted plumb out and the brakes are shot but yeah for $500 you can haul it off"

I bought my 97 xj w/ 62k for 400 bucks.
I had to get a new crank sensor. I sold the cheap/mall crawler brush guard and the nerf steps for 300 bucks.
I kept the hundred dollar Husky floor liners though:D

bought an 87 burban for $150 bucks. traded it for 1997 BMW 530i

still trying to figure out how we pulled that one off.

I thrive off deals.

The frame for my downhill bike was $25 bucks. It was a "blemish" frame. Paint wasn't quite right on it. A sticker solved the problem.

I picked up 4 35" TSLs on jeep rims for $400 bucks. Took off the jeep rims, sold em and with that money bought steel rover rims. Worked rather well.

I bought 3 8" milling vises for $250. Sold one for $250, have one mounted on my mill, and will probably sell the other for about $200. So in the end, profit $200 and I still have what I wanted to begin with!

I bought a running/driving 1998 Chevy Cavalier that was actually in DAMN good shape for $20 from a former co worker two years ago. His dad just wanted the car out of the garage. I was so skeptical on the way to his house about his dad was lying or was going to back out or something but he came out with title in hand. I handed him a $20 bill and drove it home with the title in hand, a/c on and the cd player blasting. It ran and drove better than the $4000 vehicle I had at the time. I sold it a week later for $150 to a buddy who was in need of a car bad. I wish I would have never sold it but he had kids so I'm glad I could help him out. I also bought my XJ that I've been driving since may of last year for $300. It had 142,XXX miles on it at the time and I drove it an hour home. I've been daily driving it ever since.

i bought a 78 cheyenne for $235 no motor or trans but the body had no rust except for the floor pans. also had all the cheyenne interior parts too. the guy even gave me $15 bucks back and an hei when he broke one of the tail lights
