I'm posting here because I don't have prices yet... My company is selling off a pile of machine shop equipment. Several Lathes, a bridgeport, horizontal mills, bandsaws, associated tooling, etc.

The plan is to have a broker come in and make an offer, at which point it will be offered to employees for a limited time and then whatever is left will go to the broker. Its all 3 phase, older equipment. I'm an engineer and not a machinist, but have used this stuff for quick projects. I'm sure its worn out but its what I cut my teeth on so I have no basis to say how worn it is. We could always turn our precision parts on them but the machinist who ran this equipment knew how to make it hum.

If there's any interest let me know and I'll get more specs and pictures up. I would have to buy it and haul it out of here same day on my 10-ton. I have no way of getting it off my trailer so I would be happy to deliver (within a reasonable radius from New Bern NC) for fuel cost or you could come pick it up. I would have to have your cash in my hand to make the purchase... In other words I'm not going to fork over my own money to buy something for you and then you decide you don't want it the next day.

Once I get prices I'll post over in the for-sale threads, but trying to play by the rules here...
here's all the pics... the red "x's" are how we marked which ones to move out. This was all operational a couple weeks ago.

pics posted. Greenville and Rocky Mount are definitely in range for delivery services.

That K&T (horizontal mill) is a hoss!!! Funny thing is, that's a small-ish one. We still have one at work just in case we need it. We sold our "small" one last year some time. It weighed like 12 or 13k lbs.

@Clubbs I'm really surprised that place is still open....

I asked about prices again today. Should receive broker prices soon, and then they're taking bids from employees, highest bid gets the machine... Once I get broker prices I'll list them in the misc forsale thread by item and keep a running "ebay style" bid for nc4x4 members, obviously I won't know what anyone here at work is bidding or if "my" bid is the highest until the end of the silent auction.

I was just told they aren't waiting for a broker to come in and came up with $20k for all of it... I said I would get together some offers for individual pieces together by end of next week. I'll post over in the forsale threads tonight and setup the "auction style" listing as long as the mods allow it. Or $20k takes all, and the race is on.

Can I ask what the hell they were thinking when they took a can of red spraypaint to all of those machines? Someone think they're logging?

I have no idea... machine shop supervisor marked them so the maintenance crew would remove the right ones. Not sure why he went nuts with the paint though. These things are greasy enough that it will probably wash off anyway.
