I would need some caliper brackets (2) machined for my 9" axle. I have the PDF file with the deminsions so if anyone would be able to machine these out of steel, i think 3/16 is what it calls for. I wont need these right away but looking to see if anyone has the tools and presses to do this kind of work. Then shoot me a PM and ill send you the PDF file and you can give me an estiment of how much you want for them.
Thanks
Ryan

6bang, are u saying you can do it, or are you asking the same thing I am, if anyone can do this for you?

Me a machinast? I got a grinder, would that do it?
Naw, I'm interested in a set too. They sell for like $60-65 on ebay last I checked. Might be our best option. A person would probably have to turn a dozen or so to make any profit.

Yeah i wasnt looking for anyone who has a company, just like a guy that has some machine tools and wouldnt mind making some spare change. I can only find one set for a ford 9" on ebay and they are like a 100 bucks. Id rather give someone here some spare change for their time. It wouldnt be hard to do if someone has a press and a thing to cut steel.

too bad that engineering firm out in the RTP was just a summer job...i got to "play" with the mill and lathe and some other cool machines all the time...make all kinds of cool little parts for AUV's (autonomous underwater vehicles) and other robots, so i guess i do have some machining and manufacturing experience...just no machines available to me

i think my favorite was learning how to "knurl", if your not sure what im talking about its taking a smooth piece of metal bar and cutting into it the little diamond shape texture like on dumbells or a benchpress bar... i have always thought that would be cool to do to a roll cage or some other parts on a rig
