Manual Trans or Diesel Gladiator? (and Rubicon or Mojave?)

ive had my 23 jl auto rubi with the 4cyl turbo for awhile now.
I really like this newer model. rode like a cadi when i first got it. 33k miles in, i will say i want to upgrade link and sway bushings. WNC shit roads, daily driving a long pothole rd to work, that i never slow down for, that is a possible need. The aux battery will require to be deleted. Took me 30 min i think. Other than that Ive really enjoyed it. Have had no issues. I got the rubicon package so its the oem lift with bfg 35s

I don't see fitting 3 dirt bikes in the bed of one of those. Aren't those beds like 1/2 to 2/3 the size of a standard full size pickup 'short' bed?
My Ram is 67" long and 49" wide. I should clarify, that we're talking 1 full size dirtbike and 2 kids dirtbikes. But I've carried 2 full size dirtbikes, 2 kids dirtbikes, and a small generator in it without issue.
They're 5' long and narrower and shallower than a full size truck.
Gladiator is 60" long and 45" wide. The length is no issue, the width is a little tight. And the lack of rambox storage will be problematic for all the junk I lug around and throwing a couple helmets in.

Oh sweet summer child, those auto trader prices are about 10-12k less than the actual price. But they know once they got you at the dealer it's done for
I understand what you are saying, and usually those are the "retired active military former LEO Chrysler employee Triple A Double AARP new car trade in plus a handy" prices. But it has changed in the past month or two, and now those prices are real and available to "normal" people. And they are nationwide, and the new car oversupply combined with 9% loand rates is about to cause a collapse.

Not sure if it is widely common but I have seen plenty of pics of new manual wranglers on the side of the road because their manual transmission flywheel exploded. You might want to properly vet whether or not the new manual transmissions are a great idea.

Get the cold weather package... the heated seats are amazing

no kidding. super powerful. i cant even handle the max heat option. ive also have never experienced a vehicle with a radiator that heats up so quickly. even on those 9f days lately, im getting very good heat 2 min down the rd pulling out from driveway.

As an owner of a ecodiesel gladiator, that has been to your house, get it!
It's not that much easier to park than a full size, It's pretty long for a jeep. But kids love a drop top pickup! I have a 2021 crew cab silverado w/5.3 v8, the gladiator does "truck stuff" better than the silverado. Range and fuel mileage and all that pro diesel stuff also. I got a willys, the lack of electronic sway bar and lockers hasn't held me up yet. It is killer on the beach.

If I actually follow through with this idea (which has like a 4.1% likelihood, haha), then I definitely will just for the heated steering wheel. I wish I could get the Rubicon with the cheapest interior, because the first thing I will want to do is swap out the seat covers for Katzkin Degreez cooled covers. Aftermarket Heated Seats | Cooled Seats | Katzkin DegreeZ

Oh, I have not forgotten! It's actually your fault that I ever even considered this idea!

Maybe it’s a dealer option or an aftermarket, but I’ve seen several gassers with super chargers on marketplace. Here’s one:

That guy douches up all his vehicles. Lives about a mile down the road from me. I'm 99% sure its aftermarket.

2.5" lift and 37's average 24.5 mpg for motivation.

Dude. I've been wondering what MPG would be with bigger tires. I'm pretty sure you were still on stock or stockish size tires when you were at the house.
1. That is fantastic MPG
2. That Jeep looks damn good!
3. Especially with right size wheels! What are those, 17s?

Best tank of 31mpg with stock 32's. Averaged about 26.5-27 stock. Dropped to about 24 if all in-town driving. Now it gets about 21 or 22 in town.
The low end torque of diesel seems far less concerned with big tires. My jk took a huge hit on MPG when going from 32 to 34" tires.

Yes 17's.

I think 34's (285/75R17) and a leveling spring would be perfect if you wanted to really use it as a dd.

I have a 2021 3.6L auto Rubicon. I love it. I did want the oil burner but it was still under stop sale for the HPFP at the time. As a DD I can coax it up to 19 MPG as long as I'm careful with the skinny pedal. I bought it used with 3600 miles on it in July. Mine was loaded with the cold wx group, advanced safety and leather.

All the advantages of a Jeep and a small pickup. The Rubi can tow 7K if necessary. It rides nice and momma takes it on long trips and likes it as much as she liked the 17 Grand Cherokee.

I say go for it.

i've been on the edge of my seat for this collapse for a year now
It is really good to see prices FINALLY drop.

I wanted a gladiator when they first came out. Like deadset wanted it.
Went and drove one of the first ones Ft Mill dodge got it.

Walking up to it I saw this:

I opened the back door and realized there was zero reason for the cramped door opening. It hit me as odd. Just assumed it was so they could use JK doors on it and have one part number, but no they are different dimensions apparently.
Years later now, every time I see a gladiator my eyes are drawn to this void and I cant unsee it
