The first RallyX of 2012 is on 11-Mar in Wilson, NC at the Wilson County Fairgrounds (http://www.wilsoncountyfair.org/2009fair_007.htm)

ECORS class A rigs, other stock-ish 4x4s, and all types of cars are welcome.

Pre-registration is at: http://thscc.com/rallycross/prereg_rallyx.php . We only have about 15 people signed up now. Need 25 pre-registered before next Thursday (8-Mar) to make the event happen.

Read this thread for how I explained the event last year:

This is a very flat track with several gravel sections. I would run any car on it without fear of hurting anything, other than getting gravel chips in the paint and getting the car dirty. A few folks have run really clean cars and put painter's tape over the rocker-panels to avoid chips.

It is a fun "drifting" track where you can play "Fast and Furious" :)

Let me know if you have any questions.

I'll be there as always with the Audi. :)

Those that attended in 2011 had a great time, and the club agreed that if enough 4x4s pre-register (like at least 5 or 6), they will get their own class (so compete against each other, rather than the cars). But if it's just a few 4x4s, they will be classed with the AWD cars.

See this thread starting on page 2 for discussion and pics from when several ECORS rigs competed last year:

There are no rules limiting what modifications you can make (like they don't care if you have lockers, or modified suspension, or engine swap, or what kind of tires you run). For lifted 4x4s, they may need to see a picture before the event to see if they'll let you run - if it's going to be a potential rollover when driven on this type of course, they won't allow it. (like more than 2-3 inches of lift get iffy)

There are rules about safety - your vehicle must pass tech. See that thread. And the helmet rule is mentioned there too - helmets must be:
> Snell M, K and SA dated 2000 or newer
> both open and closed face style helmets allowed.
> NO DOT ONLY rated helmets allowed.
> the club has helmets you can borrow if you don't have this kind.

I would love to be there for this. The last one was some of the most fun I have had in my jeep, but this is like 4 to 4 1/2 hours from Charlotte..... are you guys going to have any of them closer to C-town?
