Mason Jar, Harlan,KY closed?

Jsut read on another forum that the Mason Jar trail was recently closed. Anyone able to confirm this?
 
any reason given? never been but I was curious as to why?
 
All I know is:

I talked to Frank back in January and he was on the way up there to close it. Supposedly there was some argument with its use and the land owner decided not to let anyone use it anymore. Sounded like some jackasses ruined it for everyone else.

From another forum here in SC. Thought some of you might be able to confirm it. We have the NAXJA Crawl there this year I was looking forward to Mason Jar and some other trails.
 
Hope this isnt a trend and they all get closed. Anybody know what the argument was about?
 
Everytime I went to run it their was a huge crowd so I never got to run it.It's so far over there it killed alot of time for nothing.
 
That sucks. I really liked running that trail while in Harlan.
 
Heard throught the grapevine that the landowner(of which the Mason Jar trail is on) used to be on the park board committee, got sour about not being on the board anymore and decides "If I'm not on the board, you can't ride my trail".

Its just hearsay, who knows what is true.

no sure dont, i have never been but it seams like they would have a central office that runs the park... could you call one of the camp grounds and see if they have it.. if there is one
