Mastercraft engines

Anyone have any experience with them? A friend of a friend is in the market and ask me to find out what I could. He is in Lafayette, Louisiana and thought someone local here might have some experience with them. Thanks for any input.

Are you talking about the Ilmor Marine engines in the Mastercraft boats? Those are built in Mooresville I think, and are based on some part of GM engine architecture.

Are you wanting to un-marinize one and put it in a Jeep or something?

If I'm not mistaken when we had a place at tillery , my uncles had a ls1 engine

What's your question? I have a similar boat. It has an Indmar 350 which is just a GM block with marine parts slapped on it.

He is looking at them to build a LS1 for a Camero. I guess they are big into LS1 engine building

Yeah, he's talking about Ilmor then. Their primary business has traditionally been race engines.
