May be a silly question. Do I need to paint these new hubs?

Picked up some new hubs for the Jeep. I’ve only ever had old crusty hubs so paint has never even crossed my mind.

Should I paint these?

Linseed oil is an alternative to paint, will stop rust but not scratch like paint

You don't have to, but they will surface rust in a day. If you do, tape off the machined parts

I'd paint all the outside. Braxton is right about not painting the machine surfaces from a precision standpoint, but it won't matter for a jeep hub. Spray away.
