Anyone know of a way to unlock the lid to a Maytag topload washing machine, when there is no power to it? Machine was in mid cycle when the power went off.
 
stick a knife or slim implement down on the side where the little "lock" thing is. It pushes down a switch that tells the washer the lid is closed and its okay to wash/spin. Youll need to wiggle and lift and hold your mouth right as you slide the knife/tool down to push the switch down.

does that make any sense? or is your lid way too tight to wiggle?
