So I left for work yesterday heading down the road about a 1/4 mile, when a deer pops over a fence ahead of me and to the left. I hit the brakes thinking he is coming across the road, but it turns and retreats back over the fence into the woods. I am thinking, man, that could have been bad if the dumb ass would have tried to cross the road. I had visions of busted headlights, grill dented hood, ect. So I continue down the road about another mile, mind in la la land when all of the sudden out of no where "BAM!" another freakin deer leaps over a fence slams into my driver door! Scared the shit out of me! I was like WTF? I hit the brakes and out of natural reaction, turn my head and look into the mirror and see this deer all balled up on the road trying to untangle itself from this self inflicted shit for brains moved it just pulled. I get stopped and get out of the Jeep and the deer finally gets up and hobbles and limps up into the woods. I chased him on foot with pocket knife drawn to try and make him pay the ultimate price as dinner fare. Once I caught up to it, I dove and grab it by the back leg. Must have been his good leg because he gave a Bruce Lee kick that had be seeing stars. By the time I got my senses back he was gone.(Well I did not really chase him into the woods, but sounded a little more dramatic  ) Upon inspection, found a dented driver door and tore the rear fender flare off as well as a couple of scratches and hair all over the place. So I picked up my flare and continued on only to have to slow down ONE more time for 2 more deer that decided to cross the road just ahead of me. Besides that, it was just another Friday in NC

Take out the parentheses! It was much better without that part :) Glad you weren't hurt though! Look forward to seeing you at Harlan next weekend.

We had to dodge them daily going up 268 to sparta....they are pretty thick around there.

Your lucky, every time I ever hit a deer they shit all over the car.

Glad you are ok.

Yep, its that time of year. The fawns are being born now and the does go crazy looking a place to have them.
Als, BTW you should have thrown an orange at it (Dylan W)

I hit 4 in 2006 got my truck fixed just in time to get hit head on by a mexican. I feel your pain

And unfortunately you can't take revenge on the Mexoican by making him your dinner

Throw an Orange at it like Dylan! Classic! Ha ha

Just be glad it hit you and not the other way around. I hit one in '87 and it landed in the seat beside me. Luckily the windshield wrapped around me so that every time she kicked it blocked it. Deputy had to shoot it while it was still in the truck. Scary part was that I had just dropped off someone or it would have probably killed him.

Deer gestation is 200 days. Rut is mid November. Fawns will drop from late May to early June.

So I see this deer all balled up on the road trying to recoup from this stupid, self-inflicted move it just made.

get those 5 dollar deer things from walmart. They work. We were going home the other night and a deer was at the edge of the road, and we were coming up on her. I guess she heard those little things and bolted back to the field. Never turned around.
