Meeting on the proposed Forest Plan for Uwharrie

I was disappointed that so few people from NC4x4 showed up to make certain that Uwarrie remains open to OHV traffic.
We arrived at 6:15PM and left at about 7:30PM and I bet that fewer than 10 people from NC4x4 showed up. It's sad that so many NC4x4 members regularly ride the Uwharrie trails but don't care enough about it to participate in deciding it's furture.

Until this meeting I didn't realize the number of groups that are pushing to expand their usage of the park. Horse clubs, ATVers, shooters, hunters, and hikers are all trying to expand their use of the limited amount of land. They were all there supporting their sports. Where were all of the OHV guys?:shaking:
 
My excuse is that I live in Murphy, NC and it's a bit far to show my support in person. Not to mention I only get out to URE maybe twice a year at best because of how far away it is. The local boys have no excuse though!

Tuesday was National Night Out, and I am the chairman of our Community Watch so I had to attend our event... that is why I wasn't there.
 
I thought there was a thread on this, but I can't seem to find it now. I remember posting I wouldn't be there since my wife was still in the hospital.
 
I just left the Uwharrie web-site and I looked through the comments about the plan. I am glad to see that a lot of folk decided to make comments on-line even if they couldn't make it to the actual event. I apologize if I offended anyone over my comments about not showing up, and I appreciate everyone that participated in the process.

No offense, due to my lack of internet prowess today I just couldn't find the original thread where what seemed like a lot of people were going.
