Odd post...I typically only drive through High Point, but is there somewhere that will be good for two people to have a meeting for ~3 hours? I'm supposed to meet a coworker to train them on a monthly report that they're inheriting and that's about the halfway point between Raleigh & Huntersville. I don't really want to meet at one of our gen sites since the forecast has a high of 49 & calling for rain. I was thinking Starbucks or similar, but google says they're all drive-through only. Anywhere out there that still allows sitting down? WiFi isn't necessary due to hotspots & near good grub would be a plus!

Thanks,
Brandon

@77GreenMachine prob knows the best spots.

Basil Leaf is prob his 1st response so I'll get that out of the way.

Basil Leaf is the spot. It can be loud in there from 12-1 but it’s not bad. You can sit there for hours, I do it once a week. Try the Thai Tea!

Any Mexican joint is open as usual. Mi Pueblo’s is good, near the Palladium.

The Chop House is open if you want a touch up scale.

Country BBQ is open and very good.

Right off Wendover close to High Point offers Outback, Bad Daddy’s, Blaze Pizza and Viva Chicken. All of which I frequent and are good. I’d pass on Viva Chicken though, food is just okay and it’s loud with music like you’d hear at Abercrombie or an underground rave party, can’t hear yourself think much less talk business.

PS, I’m fat.

Not sure if they would have a problem with 3 hour "lunch" but they are just off Interstate 40, "Eastchester" (Hwy68). There is also a Dunkin Donuts about a mile north of it and something we have done is meet clients at the lobby of the hotels right there, you have several nice ones and they are used to "business meetings / training" type stuff between co-workers. Most of them are ghost towns right now too. There is an Embassy Suites that "used" to have a great lunch buffet years ago, right there at I-40 / 68 (1.5 miles north of this BBQ joint) that has a great lobby / middle atrium area that had little tables everywhere. I have also done this at the Koury Convention Center / hotel there at Four Seasons mall (Greensboro), just food for thought.

Thanks for the replies! I'll run these options by them tomorrow.

Basil Leaf it is...looking forward to some Thai food!

I’d be shocked if you were disappointed.

FYI when you place your order they go ahead and bring you a spring roll and a little cup of killer soup (as most Thai places do)

I usually order a sushi roll as an appetizer as well. Love the 911 roll.
