can you put a metal cutting blade on a standard wood cutting chop saw?

yea just use an abrasive blade, and get the right arbor hole

It'll melt the miter saw casing, so decide if you ever want to use it for wood again.

Also, I think the Chopsaw has more torque than the miter saw, which could be an issue as well.

Wood saws turn too many RPM for the metal cutting blades. Saws meant to cut metal have lower RPM and more torque than wood cutting saws.

I did it but I knew going in the saw was a POS and was never going to be used for wood cutting. It was nice to cut all those angles with out having to loosen nuts and retighten them though.

A metal cutting disc, is really just a reinforced grinding wheel. Too many RPM's, & it will explode. Check that the recommended
RPM's don't exceed that of the cutoff disc.

And - hearing protection.
Found out this week I have the beginnings of higher-range hearing loss (basically 20 years ahead on my "hearing age". Can guarantee it's from never wearing hearing protection.
