Metal shavings are not fun

Coming home from a car show my oil pump started giving out in my 98 TA. I thought I had shut it down in time, but I guess I didn't. Started tearing down for the new oil pump and found a bunch of metal shavings in the valvetrain area.

Looks like it is time for it to come out. I needed a new clutch anyway.

Going to go with a 6.0 with some better heads, maybe the 5.3L heads I've had here forever, and my cam that I was going to put in the LS1.

Guess my summertime is over with this car, time to get dirty.

So what tore up in it? I'd love to have an LS1 T/A, but have had several friends that had quite a few problems out of them.

These friends were also pushing 150-200 shot through them with 3000 RPM clutch drops on slicks:lol:

I'm not quite sure, my oil pressure started going all over the place, so I'm really not sure. Something internal is losing material. Car still runs fine, so it is probably the rings tearing up the cylinder walls.
