Anyone familiar with these guys?

Ordered new BJs for the boy's K5 from Rock Auto.
paid $50/side for the Moog parts instead of $10 for the econo.

Received Mevotech parts along with a note saying Moog was back ordered and these were supplied in their place as a no cost upgrade.

I hate balljoints with a passion and really dont want to do this twice in quick order....send em back or run em?

RA is good in my book, they sent me a $50 off $100 coupon as well

Mevotech as an upgrade? No..... They're not bad, but they're not Moog quality. Not cost comparable either. The coupon is the only thing that makes things roughly equal.

Internet says mevotech is better, Moog is trading on their name.

I bought Mevotech balljoints for the SD 60 in my 2500HD. I would have gotten their steering components too, but couldn't get them all in the same grade. So the steering joints are Moog.

FWIW, The Duramax Store sells "their brand" of Kyrptonite balljoints with a no questions asked warranty, but they're just repackaged Mevotechs. Hard to hide the green boots!

I like them so far aside from the cheap ass grease fittings. The check ball won't hold grease in them, so I changed them.

I have used them before w/o problem.
I believe they have different lines (economy vs pro etc) so that may account for some of the differences in opinion and/or cost.

I'm also not sold on MOOG being the be-all end all, I've had Moog parts that were not a great fit or match to the OE.

Moog is not the endall of steering parts, I prefer Napa premium line. It might be that I've got a really good Napa in town and I've installed hundreds of there ball joints with little or no returns of customer's, most of the part failures involved a snowplow installed on the truck!

The ball joints and tie rod ends in my k10 are mevotech. I only have a year on mine but so far they have been great. They seemed about the same as the moog parts we installed in my brothers elcamino.

I purchased the Mevotech adjustable upper control arms for my '96 Tacoma. They're identical in appearance to the SPC/LightRacing control arms sold elsewhere. So far, so good.
