So my truck has been in the shop for the last month, various issues being resolved. It’s an 02 7.3 powerstroke. Finally decided to just get it back from shop and finish work myself, instead of being lazy. Wife is following me home, text me and says my truck sounds “terrible”…..so me thinking I’ve got all this work done, maybe something is going on that I don’t hear. So I ask what’s making it sound “terrible”….her response was “it sounds like an airplane about to take off”…….so apparently she doesn’t like the sound of the ol 7.3 with a 4” turbo back straight pipe. Tisk tisk

Disclaimer, LOVE my wife she’s the best thing to happen to me
 
7.3s sound fine, but I'll straight up say that a 6.0 sounds freaking annoying. Of course, it could just be the way the owners drive them....

I did like the whistling sound of my buddys 6.0 back in the day, but that was my younger days so maybe that’s why

My 6.0 is a 2003 with the different turbo. It has a good airplane sound, but I do agree most are extremely annoying.

Its the beeping of the rollback that gets annoying
 
Lots of younger marines around here. On the throttle...off the throttle...on....off...on..off....whistle, whistle, whistle. Suuuper annoying.
