Military Prototype

Theres a guy in Mt. Airy that builds IED proof rigs. He was on the news a few months back. i cant remember his website, www.tactical something or other. it was a pretty cool truck though. that one just looks like a polaris on steroids.

Actually I fixed the original link.

Who are they selling them to? I've seen info on 3 different sizes the Army was buying, and I don't remember this one being one of them.

The Marine corps is getting one like that. I just don't remember the company. I can tell you that even if te vehicle survives an IED I have been in an amtrak when we set off a line charge (1700 lbs of C4) and had the door slightly opened. The concushen was really painful. That much C4 detonated 100' from the vehicle is a lot of pressure. We also detonated one from behind a little mound of dirt. Even if the vehicle survives it could still cause heart failure from the compression inside the passenger compartment. I want to see the vendor ride in it and show me proof it works.

The Buffalo was one but also the RG-31

Sorry, I haven't seen anywhere where we'd be stupid enough to get an open top vehicle. I might be wrong, but you look at the current open topped vehicles and what they're being used for. The IFAV's are nothing more than FOB gophers and mail carriers. They don't have a strong enough suspension system to put up armor on them so they are Fobbit mobile's.

You would be a dead duck in that 1st rig...

Here are some I found on the Net
