Military vehicle and buggy

the buggy was dan dibble .. hes from tn he finished 3rd this year in the ttc the magazine should be out soon

i think the 2nd one is a Hemmet (sp?) made by oshcosh 8 wheel drive front 4 turn etc.. has changable trailer units for different functions..

You're right, but more specifically a PLS or LHS, I can never remember which one has the 5th axle. They have a pretty cool Detroit diesel that is 2 stroke, both supercharged and turbo charged, V8 w/ 92 CI per cylinder.
 
And despite being the "first wheeled vehicle to successfully complete the desert proving grounds testing"...

I can tell you that it took us (approx. 25 jarheads) 4 days , 2 backhoes, & a couple of 800 series dump trucks to drag one out of the swamp at Lejuene! Sissy arse tankers wouldn't even bring the tank retriever out, so we *shoveled* around it by hand (e-tools :rolleyes:), used the backhoes/loaders to keep the side clean, and the 5Ts to assist...

Seems our company was given 2 to "test" before they were doled out the rest of the fleet (Apr/May '81)... and we all know "testing" means see what you can break! :D Sucker "sunk" and was buried even with the tops of the fenders! :shaking:

I'm just thankful the one *I* was driving made the turn and ended up on solid ground!
