I think he's full of :poop:, but a co worker came in with some cell phone pictures of this RV that he says was a "Minnie Winnie" that the owner takes to the frozen north and areas like that. He also says it's got a 4-wheel steering, direct drive electric 4wd system, where there are electric motors at all 4 wheels, that he got from some sort of military vehicle. The thing was certainly lifted and had ~33's on it.

I could almost believe the electric drive thing if this was something low-speed only, but supposedly, this thing drives on the highway too.

Sooo.. anyone know anything about a system like this?

I could understand that, an electric motor has the same torque at 1 rpm as 10,000. Got a customer that converted a ranger to electric and it blew my mind how those motors worked.

Actually, they have max torque at zero rpm, and zero torque at max rpm. Max power at half of max rpm if the torque curve is linear.

I would almost join the military so I could mess with cool shit like that.

not only that, but what would the "frozen north" do to an electric motor at the hubs?

ive seen hydro motors at the wheels.
