so I took apart my M175 last night to do routine cleaning and whatnot while I was changing spools and noticed that most of the braided copper that surrounds the liner on the torch has worked its way loose/broken away from the connection at the base of the unit. Is it secured in such a manner as that I can reattach it? From the brief time that I looked at it, it appeared as such. Unfortunately I looks as though I will have to shorten everything up 1/2" or so to get a better bite - or go all ghetto and put a worm clam around the frayed ends and call it done. Anybody ever seen this before? I don't pull it by the lead but it looks like a few hard bends have done it in. I don't want to put $200 in a new torch on a $700 welder. There has got to be an easy fix.
