minivan vs. titan: minivan wins

I'm glad he said it too, because I was thinking the same thing when I read how it happened. I feel a little bad for you wrecking a nice truck and all, but I have to say that I feel a lot worse for the minivan driver who was driving along in traffic, doing nothing wrong, and had a jerk pull right out in front of her causing both vehicles to be totaled.

Dude knows there were actions made that probably were not appropreate, why beat him down?

I see it this way.
Chuck made a bad decision. one that people make all the time, but still not the wisest.
Chuck flipped his truck, nearly killed himself, at the least got a good shock.
Chuck is now down one nice shiny new truck, facing rising insurrance rates, and may have to sell his beloved 4Runner.
Chuck will think twice next time somebody waves him by...

I don't see much need to get on Chuck's case about it now.

reed and ncjeepin, i found out they are gonna total it.
so it's time for me to start shopping for something.
my thoughts are to get something a bit cheaper for a DD since my insurance will suck after this, and hopefully i can keep the 4runner as a toy.
for anyone else that wants to comment on how dumb this was, i would like to make it a bit more clear:

so the farthest 2 lanes had a red light, it was all clear.
middle turning lane was clear.
green car stopped to let me out.
i stopped in front of him at the end of the blue arrow, and looked left and right around him into the next lane.
my next move was to follow the path of the green arrow, however what i didn't see when i looked, (and who knows if he just got impatient, got out of line, and speeded around in the left lane) was the gold mini that hit me.
so there it is. i didn't just take some guys word for it and drive blind into traffic.
and yes, i feel bad for the gentleman that ran into me, because i needlessly (not recklessly) put him in harms way.
for goddsake i work in the emergency room, you think i would willingly put myself or others into that kind of situation just because i was in a hurry?
so god forbid any of you cant see around a car, or a bush, or a sign, or a wall, or anything else like that, and you end up like me, upside down.
i just wanted you to understand i'm not some chump little 15 year old trying to hot rod around and leaping before i look.
at this point i would like to request that any more flaming be posted directly toward my pm box. if you feel that strongly about the matter, i would be happy to give you my phone number, and you can call me and rip me a new one, or talk it out, whatever.
lesson learned, no one's perfect, and the only reason i posted this thread in the first place is because of the high level of respect i have for the members of this board (for the most part).
so thanks for all the support, and i'll keep you posted on the search for a new piece of metal on 4 wheels.
