Well...a few people have asked about the progress. Here it is.

Spec.
2F w/ TBI conversion (blueprinted and balanced)
SM420
Dana300 w/4:1 and 32 spline outputs
FJ front axle...longs, APR studs, lock-right, etc...
FJ/mini-truck combo in the rear...welded
14" Rock Equipment Coil-over all the way around (dont have the coils on them yet)
4" SAW airbumps...yea there not on yet either
big fuel cell for the tractor motor
39.5x17 Irocks (not the ones in the pic)

you get the point...get close to done...has to be ready by the last week in OCt. should be fun.

6' at the top of the cage
20" of belly clearance
WB is 104"ish

and for everyone that said i couldn't build a slick buggy with a tractor motor:flipoff2:

I don't get it...when are you going to build a slick buggy with a tractor motor?...

Just kidding...i'm just wishing mine was that far along...

looks like...

...the old cruiser without skins...:flipoff2:

oh...with that hood and grill you have to put the carb back on the F motor, jet it so it's extremly rich, mis-adjust the float, and pull 2 random plug wires to get the full effect of wheelin' a CJ...

Neat-o-wow-cool buggy.

Looks good Seth. Want to finish mine?

Starting yours in november?

WOW, looks good Seth, but I didn't think we would ever see the day that you would be driving something with a jeep hood/grill...someone make sure hell didn't freeze over...

Very nice!

Didnt you know? Seth has a TJ now. The front winsheild has a big "ITS A JEEP THING" sticker on it.:flipoff2:

One thought you got enough /\ on the Air Shocks... The look almost straight up and down...

Just wondering? Maybe just your photos.

Thanks for all the comments...

Target weight...heavy for a buggy...a may weight it when its done

Started with...a lot of scrap tube, motor, tranny, t-case, and thats where it ended up.

Airshocks are fine...when its fully flexed, the go vertical and are going to sneek by the airbump cans...(if all goes as planned of course)

Very nice Seth and Tony. You are getting much quicker with these now!
Keep up the good work.
Staton

cute.

where's yours?

I have a couple of cardboard boxes with goodies in them waiting to be unwrapped. Have to get this one out of the shop before round 3 starts.

FJ40 center section (8.75 ring gear) that has been changed to a center diff by using toy mini truck shafts. I used the IFS shafts for the extra width.

Great combo when used with a fine spline pinion... Those shafts can take a ton of abuse.

buggy did great...had a few small issues with cooling and normal shakedown problems... but not to bad for going from a bare chassie to a wheeling buggy in two weeks flat.

Sam.... just so you know, I WIN.

The buggy looks good...now suck it :flipoff2:

Taking it to the Rockrace?

Tony running the trails with cigar smoking the entire time.:smokin:

Buggy looked good guys. Really impressive.

turned out real nice, it still trips me out to see you, of all people, with a jeep grill/hood, but it looks good...

Well...to be honest, the 2F and sm420 works great for what it is....however speed shifting and high throttle wheel speed....:shaking:
