Moab Jeep rental and hotel recommendations

Maybe a dumb question, but are SxS allowed on the street, to get to and from the trails, or would you need to have a trailer?
Side by sides are allowed on the roads, but I am not sure if they have to be licensed or not. They rent just as many or more side by sides than jeeps out there and they pack downtown Moab at night.

How hot would it be around the end of May.

The rental is my big hangup. I don’t know much about the trails. It sucks to have a very built rig here at home and years of experience and go out there to run boring trails. I have to tell myself its more about the experience than the challenge.
I just can’t make the tow there and back. So renting and flying makes more sense.
Do the trails that are allowed still have somewhat fun ledges and challenges?
As for obstacles, there are plenty that you would have fun on with the trails allowed by the rental companies. I'm not saying you couldn't make the trails they don't allow, but if you saw the sections they were worried about, you would understand why. The first time I went there in a rental, I had a two door JK the first day. It had just come back from the body shop where somebody rolled it on the entrance to Hell's Revenge, and that trail is not that hard.

Rolling on the entrance to Hell's Revenge would SUCK! It was kindof funny that it was my daughter's first time wheeling going up that ridge. Everyone was freaked out, lol.

That’s where I would go first if never been to Moab. Just go ahead and jump in with both feet. Baptism by fire for steep climb, steep drop off, and hellacious traction all at once. Hells revenge into fins and things is a decent day.

This for sure. I can still see the look on my wife’s face the first time we entered Hell’s Revenge.
her: you NEED to get over your way!
me: I can’t get over any more
her: you don’t understand!!
me: yes I do…
her: we’re gonna die!
priceless!

That or the entrance to Moab rim. The first mile is sketchy, not bad, but noticeable, then the next 1732 miles are hot and easy lol. Great views though. Cool trail.
Pritchett canyon into behind the rocks and loop around picture frame arch for the exit is by far my favorite.
Yes you can drive sxs on streets as long as you stay under 25 in town. With a tag, you can do speed limit.
We got our ORV passes from the shell gas station across street from Spanish trail RV park and campground.
you can even a 2021 rock buggy around with a ORV sticker lol

Moab Rim up to the first overlook was probably the most technical wheeling we did out there. Definitely the highest concentration of obstacles.
