Mobile Notary Public PSA

Just letting you guys know about an incredibly great service I found.

When I recently sold a veh to a person coming from a few hours away, I found that the car dealer I had used previously was not going to be able to help me. In a panic I started looking online and that's where I found April Nesmith. April is a mobile notary public who resides in Smithfield.

She came out to my house at 8PM in the freezing cold and helped us get the title switched and notarized. The fee for this sanity saving service? $20 !

I gave her $30 and thanked her. To me, this is a no brainer from now on. Instead of going everywhere and trying to find someone and possibly waiting an hour or more for a dealer F&I person, I will be calling April from now on.

Her number is 919-741-1501. I am not sure how far from Smithfield she travels, but all of us JoCo folks surely can use her. Tell her Paul sent ya.

Notarys legally can charge only 5 dollars for their service I believe it is so you may want to be careful about posting that. My wife is one and has told me a lot about the rules

It takes a little rule bending and careful structure of the company to be able to even charge a travel fee, which I would not advise. I have seen people get investigated for it

Sure, $5 for the notary fee, and $15 for the travel fee.

But only an corporation can get paid a travel fee, an individual can not. A notary individual itself, can not charge a travel fee. That is why it is a fine line, and many have been investigated for it. So if you paid the person 20 dollars it is illegal, if you pay a company it can be done, but it is a very fine line of being legal. My wife could never charge a travel fee legally.

My old Lady got her notary for work, and then actually took a class and got certified for this sort of thing. I don't know the details, but there are some folks out there making bank, doing exactly this. My girl has a friend making $800/weekend setting up shop in a StarBucks and churning people through.
