How does one get rid of moles from your yard? For the past 2 years, I've had them tunnel all around my yard, killing the grass. My dogs finally track 'em down, but they make it worse by digging up the tunnels to find the moles. Well, I see another cycle starting, just noticed the dogs scoping out a new tunnel system.

Someone suggested rolling up stick of JuicyFruit and dropping them in the holes. Supposedly the moles eat it and choke. I tried this, I'm not sure if it worked or not but within a week, the dogs had dug up some kind of mole (not sure if it was alive or dead). I was actually worried the dogs might sniff out the JuicyFruit and make matters worse, that didnt appear to happen.

Any help appreciated, TIA

You can try all the old stupid Bill Murray tricks like gasoline and dynamite, but until you get rid of what attracts them, you'll be pissing away your time. If there wasn't something there for the moles to eat, there wouldn't be any moles in the yard. Moles eat grubs and worms, so maybe you have a Japanese beetle larval infestation or some other larval stage convention going on. Earthworms are one of their favorite foods, too. Maybe you've got the best soil in the neighborhood. It's like snakes in the basement - no mice, rats, big insects, etc., no snakes. Get rid of the food and the moles will disappear.

My vote is for dynamite!:D

I like the tailpipe exhaust trick myself.

X3 on killing the grubs.

My neighbor had them, spread grub killer, no more moles.
Guess what, they migrated over to my yard. Grrr!
Now I'm gonna have to do the same, just so the next neighbor gets blessed with the little bastards.

Go to Lowes.Home Depot etc... and get something to get rid of grubs. If you get rid of the grubs the moles will go away. Once you spread the killer they will surface and die. My yard looked like it snowed out after it rained and they came to the surface. I could not beleive how many there where. Good luck.

crap, is that what moles eat? I've been pretty slack about the grub control. I did that at the old house and it was disgusting when they came up. The dogs ended up eating poisoned grubs and were puking in the house for weeks on end. Now I have little kids too :(

I noticed the odd mole tunnel or two last year around my house also. I guess I will try the grub killer.

A case of beer and a rifle. Wait, don't do the beer.

Shotgun with dragon breath rounds. Wait, don't do the dragon breath rounds either....

Rock salt shells??

ACME bear trap?? - Dogs, don't do that either....

Crossbow?

Dress up like a mole, blend in and assassinate him??

Case of beer, lure them with food, when they come out, whack em with a big ass golf club??

Not a golf club.
A big rubber mallet.
Key is that the mallet must be attached to a string.
Oh yeah and the moles should be made of plastic and be accompanied by 8-bit music.

Laxatives, extra extra strength shoved in some chocolate. Theyll never be back, as they will be hurting!

A large dose of Lime (Not the kind you put in your beer) will help get rid of the grubs and moles, and it will leave your yard looking green.

If you didn't live in a state run by communists you could buy mole poison. :flipoff2:

But seriously you can buy mole poison in every state in the union except North Carolina, New York, and Hawaii. You can find it in farm supply type stores for around $8 a pound. It stinks like hell but works really good, I sell alot of it.

what about our dogs, will they eat up this poison?

How do you put down the grub killer? With a drop spredder?

You should get a ferret. I dont know if it will take care of your mole problem, but it would be cool to have one around the house.
