Well, mine's shaking, has been shaking.. waiting for it to occur all the time so I can figure out what it is.. BUT all CA bushings are new top of the line which helped cut down some on the vibes. Happens about 50-55mph with 31's, about 43-45 with 33's. No visible/perceptible play in wheel bearings or TRE's. When I toss the wheel back and forth, the body moves some with the steering.. Track bar TRE worn? I expect some movement out of it.. Could be a wheel bearing but I can't get the wheel to move without moving the steering on either side. Doesn't shake everytime I hit 43-45 but sometimes it does.. feels like the front end is moving under the chassis, but looking out the window the wheel is moving left+right like you were wiggling the steering. Steering damper bushing is shot but I doubt that'd help. Going to go to PAP sometime and get 2 hub bearings and whole steering linkage+track bar... any ideas before I go drop some coin on a bunch used parts? can't afford to replace it ALL new.. I may be able to post a video of the front end while parked if that'd help. My retired full ase tech friend didn't see anything visibly wrong with wiggling the wheel.. Gets worse for a second (until below 40mph) when I hit the brakes.. warped rotors?

If the body is moving, its the trackbar.....

If the body is moving, its the trackbar.....

yea, when it first starts up, its not movingg the body, after it sets in and gains intensity, its BAD. idk, wish I could afford just to replace all the steering, track bar, and bearings, but thats $300 about.. i'll keep posted about it.. could be the alignment too.. looks toe'd out

Alignment first then go from there. The wobble at those speeds sounds like the toe is off to me. My TJ feels like that everytime after wheeling and it's always my ever-bending tie rod throwing the alignment off.

did a fatmax alignment, it was out almost an inch Front-Back. Didn't fix it, but made it a little better.. should/is a click in the TRE's OK when twisting the linkages? they don't have perceptible play in them, except for the twisting.. and if they are not supposed to twist by just grabbing the link and twisting, then that is my problem.

Twisting is normal. For a dirveway alignment I go by 1/8" tow in at the front of the rotor as compared to the back of the rotor. If you still have issues, I'm going to suggest rebalancing the tires. Between the two of those, I can always get rid of any wobble I have, YMMV.

hrm.. well after driving it a bit, it seems the alignment changed from where it was........ got to checking the TRE's like mentioned above (with big pliers) and have 1/8 to 5/16 play in them.. well thats why the alignments changing! every single one of them needs be replaced. thats about $150 of parts =\ oh well, better lay it out and save it from wrecking

pulled steering off a cherokee at PAP and its slightly better.. but I upgraded to the 97 style tie rods so I can get the parts off the shelf.. 88 is SAE threads, and 91+ is metric threads..
