Not 4x4 related, but maybe someone has an idea as to what is wrong with daughters trans...
2000 Neon, 31TH 3 speed auto. I went to drive it to have some tires put on it, got 3 miles from the house, went to pull away from a stop sign and instantly no forward movement. No crack, bang or boom, just nothing but reving?? However reverse works fine. I know because I drove it 3 miles to the house backwards. Gets a littel squirrely at times above 30mph
I checked fluid and it was low, added some, still nothing. I checked linkage to make sure it was not amiss and it is ok. I ran a scan and not throwing any codes.
I pulled the pan and fluid does not appear to be burnt, however there is a nice build up of shavings on the magnet in the pan. can has 143K on it.
any suggestions?
