Driving my wife's Escape today, and one of the plastics underneath comes loose and is dragging the road. I hit the next exit, and find that up to about 35mph, it flaps but doesn't hit the road. Not far down that road is Air Gas, so I head that way. Walk in, 2 workers up near the counter....and I say I need a pack of wire ties. Deer in headlights look. "whuts dat?". I try again: Tie wraps? Zip ties? They don't have a clue what I am talking about.

"those plastic things that you bundle wires up with". They finally understood that. She reaches under counter and pulls one out. "Like this?....(yep)....We don't sell these...there's just one laying here."

I told them what the issue was....at least they thought of and offered to cut me off a couple of feet of mig wire. And didn't charge me for it.

Don't get me started on Lowes, at least the one in Reidsville. The majority of the people there are less than useless.

I must of ran into the same morons at Home Depot a week ago. dude had no clue what a finishing nail was. (turns out they were on a different aisle) but he kept insisting that roofing nails were the same thing

That's a very common trend nowadays. It's still crazy that corporations place any value at all in employees without some field experience or bare minimum, schooling in the trade.

Some gun shops are just as bad. Was in the local gun shop a while back.
Me: Hey, y'all sold many of the Ruger 9mm carbine rifles?
Dude behind counter: Nah man, we don't even have any, and haven't been able to get any.
Me: Oh yea, there is like 5 of them on the wall right behind you.
Dude behind counter: Oh you mean those Ruger 9mm rifles, yea we have some.
Idiot
