Clearly you (right handed) guys haven't experiends a Sharpie S-gel 1.0 because its mo-betta. (but taking apart a Pilot G series is a favorite meeting pasttime of mine )

I prefer the pilot precise g5. Now mechanical pencils, I get kind of picky lol.

Pentel Graphgear 1000 in .5 for general stuff, and .3 for field sketches. The retractable tip is a must for keeping it in a pocket or clipped to a sketchbook.
