Agreed....I am by no means an elitist prick but the general populace is why we have such screwed up leadership. We get what we ask for.....and we have never forced the issue when we could clearly demand better performance and candidates. But we do have the lesser of the evils at the moment. I just wish draining the swamp could actually become a reality. The whole GUBBERMENT needs a "cleansing flood". I'm for Charlie Daniel's term limitations for all involved including lobbyist. Two much extended power and policy. Private interest run the palace.......it's all a glass house of who benefits who.

While I agree with your sentiment, the problem is that those who would in fact be better candidates and better performers have no willingness or incentive to do the job. For the most part the personality traits that makes somebody want to be a politician are the same ones that make them so fallible.

Also - lobbyists are, by definition, private sector and NOT government members, so you'll never be able to legislate term limits on that, and as long as we have the 1st amendment you'll not be able to remove it. Food for thought.

The sequel is shaping up right now in South Korea, the women's Jamaican Bobsled team had their driver coach quit the other day and take the sled she rented with her. Red Stripe Beer stepped up and got them a sled to compete with, I see a movie there, with some product placement for sure!
