MOTD (Meme of the Day)

There was a shot my buddies would make first timers do at the bar on Topsail that this reminds me of... was it called a cement mixer? I can't remember the ingredients but you would shoot it, shake your head/mouth, and the two ingredients would curdle in your mouth. Lols were had if anyone hurled.
Yep, cement mixers are the ac dc of drinks!

(Highway to hell!)

Yep, Bailey's and lime juice.

I've heard it as Bailey's & OJ...Bailey's & anything with citrus should curdle.

Cleetus McFarland had that attached to his latest track announcement. Apparently after all the BS of trying to buy the surrounding property as a buffer zone around his track complex they wouldn’t sell it to him but sold it to some land developer and they have approved a massive cookie cutter house plan that will put houses right up next to his complex. I see this exact meme coming true but he stated that he was at least able to get on the books stating they buy the lord at their own risk and acknowledgment that he was there first. What a shit show!

They did the same crap in my hometown. People griped about the drag strip. In the end a 10pm curfew for racing was given. We were worried it would get shut down, so I guess a curfew is a semi win.

That's probably where I stole it from. But it's all too true around here. Shadyside Dragway used to be a big deal, then they built houses near it, then it got shut down. And a dozen other examples throughout the Carolinas.

But there is one way to be the exception...have enough money...
Up in Concord used to be Speedway Boulevard (because it went from the interstate, straight over to Charlotte Motor Speedway, duh). Then Bruton Smith built Zmax dragway for $60 million dollars. But before it even hosted a race, all the nimby's (WHO BOUGHT HOUSES BETWEEN AN INTERSTATE, THE LARGEST MALL IN THE STATE, AND ONE OF THE MOST WELL KNOWN TRACKS IN NASCAR) suddenly got worried about noise and traffic and started making a stink about the surprise racetrack. Bruton Smith then threatened to move the whole damn complex to South Carolina, and not but a couple weeks later, he suddenly gets $60 million in government incentives AND they rename Speedway Blvd to Bruton Smith Blvd. (I'm glad the track is still there, but) F that noise.

I remember that. I thought it was hilarious that they were cussing him one minute, and naming a street after him the next.

The story I heard was that when Bruton threatened to leave he was going to bulldoze the speedway & the dirt track...City of Concord backpedaled very fast at that point and their form of begging him to stay was to name that stretch of road after him. When I lived in Concord I was 6 miles as the crow flies from the speedway & I could hear the cup cars if the wind was right, but when the NHRA came to ZMax I'd hear them every time, but only for 3-4 seconds!

This seems a little extreme
