Ditto.
I frankly don't understand the advantage of what this calls a castle nut. Seems like much more difficult to fabricate with no different application.

Castle nuts are for meeting certain spec requirements. Slotted nuts the cotter pin bends down and up over. Castle nuts the cotter pin bends around the nut both sides to make a U or W

I learned something new today!
In particular... people (including me) seem to bend cotter pins the wrong way on slotted nuts too

Although really it seems most of the time I'm limited by which way it will fit bc the diameter profile of the pin sliding through rarely is the same shape as the hole.

I remember in the days of a TO book having to be open, and a QA watching over your shoulder. The right size cotter pin for the bolt hole was never the problem. It was the hole lining up with the slots after hitting the torque spec. No - you couldnt "torque" again to get another budge. No - you couldnt loosen. You had to completely remove the nut and start over.

Oh, the joys of my days as an airframes mechanic.

I use Airbnb to market it and I’ve had a couple stays that were a few days but the majority are 45-90 days with 24 hours to turn the unit around. At the moment the tenants rented for 105 nights and currently checking out on 12/31/23. In 2 years I’ve only had 1 tenant that was a problem and didn’t want to leave at the end of her stay. A quick call to the sheriffs department and she was on her way.
That is interesting. 45-90+ days renting a camper is not what I would have expected. Location must be a big driver?
