I had a Blackberry Pearl 8100 in early 2007 but it was released mid year 2006, a full year before the iPhone. It had a browser, Facebook, etc. Meme needs its dates adjusted. And seriously who did not have magazines in the bathroom?!?!
A lot of things beat Apple to the punch but everyone seems to believe they are the leaders. :(

From a non tech nerd perspective they always win for integration and user experience. But they’re os is based on one mouse button which makes it very hard to do most things even word/ excel

Kind of like how nobody really gives a hoot about the size of d screen in a car but that’s become the selling point of a new car vs reliability

yeah they tend to take over a market bc of the ELI5 approach, but what I was referring to is that they have a habit of claiming and being given credit for the first when they rarely actually are

Good lord that is always mentioned in Motortrend and Car & Driver articles. GEEBUS WHO CARES? What annoys the ever living **** out of me is that my 2026 Chevy Traverse (work car) lacks an actual headlight switch, among other tactile-focused functions. Yes, you have to use the center-screen to tap around to access the headlight selections to operate them. What idiot thought that crap up I will never know but please, please, please NHTSA please set a FVMSS for certain functions that must be physical buttons in an automobile. I hate government regulation and intervention but if that is what we need to fix this then please do it!

Once you have the computer and screen can bus is cheaper to wire than a physical switch. It’s about profits nothing else. Theres some recovery on the rubicon videos I’ve seen about tricking the canbus for things like swaybar module failure so the vrhicle isn’t stuck in limp mode for the recovery

we used to play tag with Daisy pump BB guns - until my cousin Brian was stupid enough to take one to the corner of his eye. He ruined it for all of us.
I've still got one behind my left ear from my brother getting mad with a pump up bb gun.
