this is one of the things I miss about how parenting and neighborhoods used to work.
My friends and I all treated each others parents like our own and vice versa. I knew if I acted up at Ryan's house I could expect a scolding from his mom that could be worse than my own.
Nowadays everyone is all sensitive about boundaries instead of respecting the value of the village

Come to my house. I'll give you a dose of the good ole days. Every kid knows I don't care who you are. Most of my daughter's friends are scared of me.
