B/c we are talking literally, what, thousands of thousands of drug tests in every county? And how often? Every month? Lietrally millions done in NC over the course of a year.
1st poblem - The shear manpower in not only administering (getting) them but also in processing that is outrageous. Sure, eventually companies will emerge, but what happens during teh flux time, and what happens to those companies as the demand decreases?
2nd problem - thsi is actually bigger - there is a thing called "false positives". The test companies don't like to talk about this, but it happens. Lets say there is a .01% incorrect rate, 1 in 10,000 tests come out positive when it isn't.
That means over the course of a year, lets say a million+ tests in NC alone, hundreds of people will be falsely accused and lose their coverage and be labeled a druggie.
Plus lots of everyday meds cause positive results

Your chances of falsely "failing" a drug test ar waaay better than playing the lottery.
While I def think it's a great idea, it's completely impractical.
A good start would be to remove welfare benefits when
convicted of a crime, including drug posession.
